Tosfos – תוס’ “נותן have a new explanation to the case of חמין לתוך צונן & צונן לתוך חמין different than Rashi.
Rashi – dependant on the cup that is being poured into as that is תתאה גבר
Tosfos – it is not dependent on תתאה גבר. Rather it’s dependant on volume. According to Bais Shammai if the hot water has a larger volume than the cold water than it is prohibited to mix the them.
