Is it permitted to peel fruits and vegetables?

We learnt the רמ”א סוף סע” י”ט “אסור לקלוף  that says it is permitted for immediate use but to peel to use at a later time is prohibited. 

The משנה ברורה ס”ק פג says that it is a violation of Borer

Would it be permitted to peel fruits and vegetables that are edible with their peels to eat at later time?
