According to the ריב”ן
  • What is the חילק between being reevaluated on the same day as the first evaluation or on a later date?
  • Why does the נלקה not need to endure his full share of lashes if there was an underestimation in the original evaluation ?
  • Why does the נלקה not need to endure his full share of lashes when the reevaluation is done on a later date and its clear he can endure the full amount contrary to the original evaluation which said he can only endure part of the 39?
Point to ponder:
  • According to רבי יהודה when the נלקה can only endure part of the 39 lashes would he still receive one or more lashes בין כתיפיו?
  • According to רבי יהודה when the נלקה can only endure 20 lashes, will he receive 2 lashes בין כתיפיו?  (The ערל”נ “דכתיב” and “אשר” discusses these two questions)

The gemara says that saying bris and torah in the second bracha of benching is required. If one forgets bris and torah, is he required to repeat benching? If one finished the second bracha of benching without bris and torah and realized his mistake before beginning the next bracha, what should he do now?   • Why does רש”י דברים כ”ה,ג give a different explanation then the גמרא ?

Is there an opinion in the gemara that holds that four vegetable eaters cannot be mitztaref to a zimun because we need a rov deminkar? See gemara that says “shisha vaday lo mibaye lee”. See Rashi dh he’ihu and the mesores hashas on the margin of the gemara that brings a different girsa. This will help explain the last few words in tosfos and the Rif that say that a rov deminkar is required. See Mishna Brura in siman 197 sif 2 and 3 for the halacha.

The main point to take out of tosfos if it is too lengthy to see the entire tosfos is to see from the beginning of tosfos until the first wide line that brings the shitah of Rabbeinu Tam regarding tziruf of a katan to zimun and tefilah. See Rif on 35a 3 lines from the bottom amar Rav Nachman until the 3rd line on amud beis that argues on Rabbeinu Tam. See Rambam hilchos brachos perek 5 halacha 7 at the end of the halacha that says like the Rif. See two opinions in Shulchan Aruch with Mishna Brura siman 199 sif 10. Eimek Bracha (page 60, birchas zimun) asks an interesting question according to Rabbeinu Tam.

Begin on 47b, at the two dots on the second middle size line. Learn until the third line from bottom, amar Rav Yochanan. See tosfos dh mitzvah. The gemara says that a katan can be mitztaref to a mezuman in certain cases. How can a katan that cannot talk (mutal bearisah) be part of a mezuman? Perhaps in the meiri on the previous gemara that we saw there is an answer to this question. The gemara says that one can free a slave and trangress an asay for a “mitzvah derabbim”. What is the mitzvah derabbim here in the gemara? See tosfos dh mitzvah and Rosh siman 20 beginning from tanu rabanan until a few lines later velays hilchasah that discusses this point. On tosfos dh mitzvah, see Mahrsha that asks a question on tosfos. See Tzlach dh tosfos dh mitzvah in the first paragraph that answers the question. On the gemara that one who is in the first ten of a minyan receives the same schar as all those who come later, why is this so? See Mahrsha dh leolam.
