The Gemara (3a) said the benefit of an \u05d0\u05de\u05dc\u05ea\u05e8\u05d0 is that it attracts attention and makes the Korah noticable therefore a Korah with an \u05d0\u05de\u05dc\u05ea\u05e8\u05d0 can be placed higher than 20 Amos. An opening wider than 10 Amos is considered a Pirtzah.
