- What is the double take of the גמרא in the question of מנלן?
The גמרא says the אנשי כנה”ג established the 11-13 as days that מגילה could be read. How could they have given the leniency for כפרים to read on these days. The reason why they entered on Monday and Thursday was either for court cases of for reading of the תורה which was a תקנת עזרא. But עזרא was after the Purim story ? (see “ריטב”א “אלא שהכפרים in middle, starting from words אלא ה”ק ” )
How do we determine who is greater in wisdom?

Begin at the beginning of the gemara on 2a and learn until the third wide line, amar Rabah. See Rashi. See carefully Rashi dh zman kehilah that explains what the gemara means when it says that to read the megilah on the 13th we don’t need a passuk because it is a zman kehilah lakol. See Rosh in siman 1, from the beginning of the gemara that brings Rashi’s pshat and asks on Rashi. He then brings a pshat from the Ri based on a yerushalmi and asks on this as well. Finally he brings a pshat from Rabeinu Tam because the 13th is tanis esther. This needs an explanation, what does tanis Esther have to do with reading the megilah? Another question on the kriyah of the villages that need to go into the city to hear the megilah is, does a person have an obligation to go to another city to fulfill a mitzvah?

Learn the גמרא until “האי מיבעיא ליה לגופיה ” (eleven lines before the wide lines)
Begin at the mishna on 2a. Learn the mishna with Rashi. In Rashi dh elah shehakfarim, rashi says what the reason is for the kefarim to read megilah early. On the last words of Rashi there is a question, why did Rashi skip reading on the 12th? See Rashash on this. See Ran (daf 1 amud a dh elah shehakefarim, on the fourth line from the top) that says differently than Rashi. The Ran also explains how they read the megilah at night. The question on the Ran is, what is the reason that the megilah should be read with a minyan, what is wrong with each person reading on their own? Another question on the mishna is who exactly is the one that will read the megilah for the bnei hakefarim if they don’t know how to read the megilah?
