Begin on 51a, at the two dots 13 lines from the top, tanu rabanan. Learn until amar Rav Yochanan, 6 lines before the end of the amud. See tosfos dh ayn lanu and dh shtifah. On the gemara that discusses the ten things required of a kos shel bracha, Rav Yochanan says only four and appears to argue on this. See tosfos dh ayn lanu that discusses this. See also Rabeinu Yonah 38a dh hashta. See Rashba dh amar Rav Yochanan that says another pshat. Question- do these halachos apply only to the kos of bentsching or to kiddush and all of the other kos shel bracha? Also, are these items of the kos shel bracha meakev or only lechatchilah?
Begin on 50b, 10 lines from the bottom of the amud, tanu Rabanan. Learn until 51a, the two dots 22 lines down. See tosfos dh velo (50b) and dh meikara (51a). See carefully Rashi on 50b dh mamshichin yayin how he explains why there is no bizui ochlim when they pour the wine. See Rabbeinu Yonah on 37b dh mamshichin that says otherwise. On the gemara that says that when one drinks water and forgets a bracha he should swallow without a bracha, what is the logic of that, what is the heter to eat or drink without a bracha? See Rosh siman 33 that brings two approaches to this. See also Ritva on 50b dh shachach that brings a third approach to this. For the halacha of one who eats without a bracha, see shulchan aruch siman 172 sif 1 that Mechaber and Rema argue and Mishna Brurah there.
Begin on 50b, at the two dots 9 lines from the top of the amud, beis chaburos. Learn until tanu rabanan, 10 lines from the bottom of the amud. See tosfos dh shamash. On the gemara that discusses the tziruf of the shamash, see tosfos dh shamash and Rashba on 50a dh ha deketani, up until where he brings the Ravaad. See Rabbi Akiva Eiger on the margin of Shulchan Aruch siman 195 sif 1 that brings a teshuvas Rashbash. Is there a machlokes between the Rashba and Rashbash? See Biur Halacha siman 195 sif 1 dh shtei chaburos for a discussion of this. See also sif 2 that says that a mevarech in the doorway can be mitztaref people that are insode with those that are outside. But why does it say only a mevarech can do that and not someone else? See Shar Hatzion on the bottom of the Mishna Brura siman 195 sk 6.
Begin on 50a, at the gemara following the mishna towards the bottom of the amud. Learn until tanu rabanan in the middle of the amud beis, 22 lines from the bottom. See tosfos dh aval. See Rashi in dh aval carefully and see where Rashi and tosfos disagree (like tosfos says at the end). See Biur Hagra in siman 193 sif 5 sk 19 and divrei nechemya in the back of the gemara. On the gemara that says that three came from three other chaburos of three, how were they permitted to separate from a zimun of three? See Mishnah Berurah siman 193 sk 31. Is there a diyuk in Rashi dh aval (on amud beis) to any tzad in the machlokes between the Magen Avaraham and the Even Haozer whether one can answer to two different zimuns?
Begin on 50a, 8 lines from the top, umibirchosov shel adam nikir etc. Learn until the mishna towards the bottom of the amud. See tosfos dh al hamazon. The gemara that discusses the story of Rava visiting the Reish Gelusah and bentsching without a zimun of ten, rather with a zimun of three, how were they able to do that, doesn’t the gemara say at the top of the amud that one cannot split up a zimun of ten? See Rashba dh velivorchu. Does the second teretz of the Rashba indicate that zimun is only derabanan? See Shar Htzion (on the bottom of Mishna Brurah) siman 199 sk 19. See Chazon Ish (Orach chaim siman 31 sk 1 dh brachos). On the gemara that says that a person that bentsches before the zimun may still be mitztaref to the zimun afterwards, how can he do that if he did not eat again? See Rosh siman 28 that explains.
Begin on 49b, 7 lines from the top, amar Rav Idi. Learn the gemara until the mishna. See tosfos dh eeh and dh Rabbi Meir until the ninth line of tosfos. Regarding the gemara that says that one does not have to repeat benching if he forgets yaleh veyavoh on Rosh Chodesh, see Rambam hilchos Brachos perek 2 halacha 13. See Hagayos Maymonis on the bottom os 7 that discusses repeating on Chanukah and Purim. See Eimek Bracha (page 62 os 3) for a discussion of this. Regarding the discussion of benching on a kazayis, is that a chiyuv min hatorah or derabanan? See Shulchan Aruch siman 184 sif 6 and siman 197 sif 4.
Begin on 49a at the two dots, 15 lines down. Learn until 49b, 7 lines from the top, amar Rav Idi bar Avin. Learn tosfos dh lomer and dh baruch. On the first gemara that discusses saying malchus in hatov vehameitiv, not in the bracha of bonei yerushlayim, why would one not say malchus where it belongs, in the bracha of bonei yerushalayim? Tosfos dh lomer should answer this point. Rabeinu Yonah on 36a dh aydi says another reason. What is a nafka minah between the two reasons? On tosfos dh baruch, there is a very obvious question on tosfos that can be found in the Mahrsha. See carefully Rashi on the top of 49b dh vehadar that says what one repeats if he forgets to mention shabbos in bentching. See Rambam hilchos brachos perek 2 halacha 12 with the Ravaad that brings a machlokes about this.
Begin on 49a, at the two dots, 16 lines from the top, tanu Rabanan. Learn until yasiv Rabbi Zeirah, 7 lines from the bottom. See Rashi carefully in dh chutz mizu that brings two girsas to explain the gemara that answers the question from mekadeish hashabbos veyisroel vehazmanim. See also Rif on 36a that brings the gemara with the girsa of the Bahag. See Rabbeinu Yonah in dh amar lay that explains. Another question on the gemara is why does the gemara first ask from mekadeish yisroel vehazmanim and answers and then asks the same question from Rosh chodesh and answers the same. What was nischadesh to the gemara to ask from Rosh Chodesh after the gemara already said the previous answer. See the peirush of Rabbi Eliezer Moshe Horowitz in the back of the gemara that discusses this. See tosfos dh lomer with Maharsha.
Begin on 48b, Rebbi omer, 21 lines before the end of the amud. Learn until the two dots on 49a, 16 lines down from the top. The gemara says that saying bris and torah in the second bracha of benching is required. If one forgets bris and torah, is he required to repeat benching? See Biur Halacha siman 187 sif 3 dh machzirin. See also Ritva here on 49a dh vehamilah that discusses this. If one finished the second bracha of benching without bris and torah and realized his mistake before beginning the next bracha, what should he do now? See Shaar Hatzion on the bottom of the Mishna Brura siman 187 sk 8. Is there room to take issue with his proof from yaleh veyavoh?
